Private Sector Development Manager

In line with ISS's strategic goals and financial growth targets, the Private Sector Development Manager's role will be to develop and cultivate new business within this sector.  Key to the success of this role is the maximisation of every opportunity with both the development of new business leads and the development of existing internal and external client relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Identify bid strategy in line with client expectation to ensure tender return documentation is of high quality, unique and conveys ISS's action and intention within the process
  • Develop and maintain professional key relationships internally to maximise all opportunities, as they arise
  • Lead the bid process as a single point of contact to co-ordinate PQQ completion, bid writing, risk management, pricing and client communication to ensure client deadlines are met
  • Maintain accurate CRM records in line with ISS requirements
  • Create a pipeline of new business opportunities whilst maintaining accurate records to allow generation of reports for senior management
  • Provide support to existing operational teams, as required, to ensure smooth mobilisation on successful award of contract
  • Create and develop presentations as required to assist in the development of new business and service lines
  • Attend internal and external networking events to develop new business
  • Ensure legal compliance in line with ISS policites and procedures
  • Develop and keep current a library of information
  • Promote a professional image at all times


PERSONAL PROFILE:

Experience:

  • Eight years' experience within the commercial grounds maintenance/landscape industry
  • Proven track record in sales within the industry
  • Sound working knowledge of operational practices and procedures within a commercial landscaping environment
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering excellent client relationships
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to lead and work as part of a team within a sales environment
  • Financially astute and commercially aware to lead negotiations
  • To have worked in a large organisation and understand the workings and methods of such organisations

Skills:

  • Commercial and financial ability is essential
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Project management skills
  • PC literate - understand of how to use the technology as a tool
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Good organisation skills, allowing accurate estimating, prioritising and delegation of tasks
  • Ability to review and solve problems to the mutual benefit of all parties
  • Able to measure progress against targets and facilitate any actions required to deliver quality results within the sale function
